Dimitris Ameladiotis was born on 7 October 1979 in Thessaloniki. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki - AUTH, audiovisual arts at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten - KASK, Ghent, Belgium, and pursued graduate studies at Chelsea College of Fine Arts, London.
