CM: The Frontal Portrait of Nikos Grigorakis was made by Chronis Botsoglou in 1983, when the former curated an exhibition of the latter with watercolors from the period 1961-1964. Owing to this special relationship Grigorakis regularly visited his Botsoglou's studio to discuss the contents of the report. In one of his visits there Botsoglou proposed Grigorakis to pose for him on the spot. First he drew a sketch with pencil, and based on that he made a sketch with a fountain pen, which he faithfully transferred to a copperplate engraving. The nervous lines compose a very lively likeness of the sitter.
