CM: Alexandre Charpentier's The Duval-Janvier Reducing Machine and Striking Press is an extremely fine bronze octagonal plaque created in 1902 Paris. The obverse represents a topless male figure seen from the back, whilst turning the fly-wheel of a coining press machine. In the reverse amidst the decorative text in Art Nouveau lettering are three diminishing vignettes of the obverse picture, providing a practical illustration of the reducing machine.
