CM: Covens and Mortier's Map of the Roman World dates from 1758 and is a copperplate engraving based on an earlier map by Guillelmo De L'Isle ( 1675-1726 ), Geographer to the King of France. The scale is inscribed to be 48 milimeters for 1000 stadia (that is 1:3.848.000).
