Stavros Diakoumis was born in Larissa in 1969. He studied painting with Vassilis Vlachopoulos and Stefanos Stefos. He enrolled at the School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki in the workshop of Vangelis Dimitreas (1989-1990). He continued his studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1990-1995) under Nikos Kessanlis, George Harvalias and Panos Charalambous, and graduated with a Master in Digital Arts in 2006. He was distinguished with the Spyropoulos Foundation Award (1999) and received the Greek Literature's Association honorable mention (2001).
Stavros Diakoumis has presented the following personal exhibitions: Hadjiyannio Cultural Center of Larissa, Greece (1994); and Stavros Diakoumis: Works 1998-2006 at Artspace To Milo, Athens (2006). He has also taken part in the following group exhibitions: Alba, Agia Paraskevi, Greece (1993); Galerie 4, Volos, Greece (1994); Ktimatiki Bank, Glyfada, Greece (1995); ASFA Graduates 1995-1996 at the National Bank of Greece, Athens (1996); National Bank of Greece, Athens (1996); Unofficial Language at the Artists Building, Athens (1998); On-Line Art at Art Prisma, Athens (2000); Artists of Volos Through Time at Giorgio de Chirico Art Center, Volos (2001); Psycharis Gallery, Athens (2002, 2003); Videocllectiff Athènes at the Institute Franšais, Athens - Tel Aviv - Toronto (2006); and An Outing: Contemporary Art in Greece in the 21st Century in the Beltsios Collection at Matsopoulos Mill, Trikala (2006).
Stavros Diakoumis currently lives and works in Athens.
