Eleni Economou was born on 4 July 1981 in Nicosia, Cyprus. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA (2000-2007) sculpture with Theodoros Papagiannis. In the period 2000-2005 she was a fellow of the National Scholarships Foundation - IKY. With the aid of IKY she studied at the Slade School of Fine Arts, London (2002-2003) sculpture with Tom Lomax as part of the Socrates / Erasmus program of the European Union. In 2008 she participated in the 13th Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Puglia, Italy. In 2008 she participated in the sculpture workshop on Sousak island of Croatia with the support of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Croatia. In the period 2008-2010 she was a fellow of IKY for artistic development work in the field of sculpture. She took part in the exhibition "Encounters: Eclectic Affinities with the art of Phaedon Anastasiadis" at Melina Mercouri Cultural Center, Athens (2011) and Teloglion Foundation of Art, Thessaloniki (2012).
Currently Eleni Economou lives and works in Athens.
