CM: Costas Evangelatos' Conceptual Landscape is a picture of a metaphysical world whose layers are filled with symbols, such as the symbol for 'empty-space', letter 'x', and arrows. Evangelatos' aim is to present nature with another feel, from his personal viewpoint. Some of nature's fundamental elements feature here, such as water and air. This work is a result of spiritual and philosophical quest. The horizontal strata extend beyond the limits of the picture, keeping the parallel fields infinitely separate. The color of the strata may be subjective but it is natural. Every color is inspired directly from nature. Therefore the lowest stratum refers to reflections of light in the water.
