CM: Emersion is a painting on the back cover of a drawing-pad. Evangelatos chose to retain the blue spiral of the pad, which influenced the color scheme and the drawing flow of the composition. The picture shows a face, nearly ageless and sexless, which emerges discreetly from the realm of the subconscious. The palette is of utmost significance to the rendering of the face in the space - physical and metaphysical - which it occupies. The character of the figure becomes tense owing to the juxtaposition of complementary colors, the orange and the blue. Therefore, the successive brushtrokes in combination with the graphic work endow the picture with the illusion of a multiple dimension.
