Sandra R. Fourlis was born on 21 September 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied graphic arts at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston - SMFA (1960-1964) and painting with Panos Gikas. She worked as a childrens book illustrator for Allyn & Bacon, Boston.
Without ever pursuing to exhibit her work, Fourlis accepted the invitation to present her work at a group exhibition in The Charles Street Gallery on Beacon Hill, Boston (1964). She collaborated with an art dealer for a length of eight years in the 1980s. In 1986 she organized a charity auction at the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, Athens, in affiliation with the American Women of Greece - AWOG. In 2008 she took part in Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time at the ACG Art Gallery of The American College of Greece, Athens.
Since 1965, Sandra R. Fourlis lives and works in Athens.
