CM: At first glance, Kyriakoula Georgili-Zolotas' Nuit Blue (Blue Night) presents asymmetrical orange geometric patterns hovering against a blue background. Looking more closely at the viewer discern anthropomorphic figures, wheeled vehicles, Egyptian symbols, buildings, illuminated signs, stars and the moon. It is worth noting that Georgili-Zolotas has written a thesis entitled "The Philosophy of Color in Art" (1992). Matching the warm color of city life with the deep color of the sea one summer night, the painter produces a sense of psychological charge and emotional stress. Georgili-Zolotas aims to offer viewers of her works stimuli for thought with a view to communication.
