CM: Ghika writes: "A chaste maiden has been cruelly tied to a precipitous crag at the edge of the seething waves and left there, as an offering to a sea monster. But Perseus, in the course of his long travels, arrives in the nick of time, swooping down from the heavens and adding yet another fair prize to his many previous exploits." [Georgakopoulos 1984, p.9]. On the reverse of this medallion Ghika inscribed a name on each consecutive side of a square: "Perseus / Andromeda / Kifeus / Kassiope". In the center of the square he set the scene of Pegasus preparing to take wing.
