CM: The Chronologue is part of the Banners of Asteris Gkekas. The present Chronologue records the passing of a day as progress. It is a way of recording and counting the passing of time. On a long spine rises a double sided wooden disk. On its bright side the time is reflected in color. The color with its light and hues expresses reserved optimism that negotiates the exaggeration of life's great joy. On its dark side time is reflected by incision without color. The lines form various emotional patterns with reference to the tragic dimension of life. Overall the lines on the wood refer to a lifespan of 80 years. The wood brings out the warmth of the material - peace, pain and reconciliation. On both sides of the of the Chronologue a wind rotates patterns as a propeller. The juxtaposition of colored speckles and incisions defuses the contrast by a delicate balance.
