Mark Hadjipateras was born on 16 November 1953 in London, England. He studied fine arts at Hammersmith School of Art, London(1971-1972) and Saint Martins School of Art, London (1973-1975), as well as at Liverpool School of Art (1978-1980). He has been living and working in New York since 1982.
