JIJIE HONG (China, Shanghai b. 1959 / act: New York)
Jijie Hong was born in Shanghai China in 1959. He graduated from Shanghai Fine Arts College in 1981. Between 1981-1987 he taught courses at the Art Department of Shanghai Joa Tong University. In 1987 Jijie moved to New York City. He continued his studies at the Arts Students League of New York and was awarded a merit scholarship in 2002. He also received the 3rd prize in The 2nd National Youth Art Exhibition from the China Art Museum of Beijing in 1980, and the Margery Soroka Memorial Award from The Salmagundi Club of New York in 2003.
Jijie Hong presented the following personal exhibitions: Prints by Jijie, Room with a View Gallery, Shanghai (2003); and Jijie: Past &; Recent Paintings, Gallery of Mercedes-Benz Inc., New York (2004).
