The painter John Karoussos was born on 1 May 1937 in Athens, Greece.

In 1996 he presented for the first time in situ, in the church, the frescoes that had been completed by then. This original exhibition was received very positively by the public, the art world and the media. In 2010, after 25 years of work, the 6,000 square meters of painting the surface of the temple was completed, providing its services to the congregate and become an artistic proposal for a contemporary means of decorating the Orthodox Churches. Characteristic of his paintings is the gradation of green on the figures, which endows them with a dematerializing and dreamy feel.
