ISMENE KING (Greece, Athens b. 1993 / act: Athens)

Ismene King Ismene Aphrodite King was born on 10 April 1993 in Athens, Greece. She was a student at Doukas Elementary School from 1999 to 2005, and attended Pierce College between 2005 and 2009. She is currently preparing for her IB at Saint Catherine's British Embassy School, Athens.

Ismene has been painting since she was a child. From 2000 until 2009 she was under the tutelage of Ms. Mary Valvi-Chryssoti. Some of Ismene's paintings have been exhibited at exhibitions in Kifissia in 1999, 2000 and 2001. She started ceramic art at the age of 12 under the tutelage of Ms. Marilena Michopoulou. Examples of this work were presented at a group exhibition of ceramic art at the Cultural Center in Nea Erythrea in 2006. In both 2007 and 2009 she was awarded the first prize in the Student Art Competition of Schools in Prefecture Athens. In 2008 she had her first personal exhibition of paintings and ceramic art at the Cultural Center in Nea Erythrea. It is worth noting that Ismene is the youngest artist to date to enter the ACG Art Collection. Ismene was also the youngest to be admitted to the UCL Slade School of Fine Art summer school in 2009. Ismene's hobbies are reading, painting, dance, films, stage design, jewelry design, music and photography. Her ambition is to study Fine Arts in the UK.
