Aria Komianou was born on 18 January 1938 in Athens. She graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA in the workshop of C ostas Grammatopoulos with a degree in printmaking, with honors in woodcut, lithography and etching. She also holds a diploma in Theoretical and Historical Studies and Art Book and Typography of ASFA. She received distinctions and awards repeatedly at international presentations.
Aria Komianou has presented the following personal exhibitions: Astor Gallery, Athens (1966), Tholos Gallery, Athens (1974), Zygos Gallerie, Athens (1979), Armos Gallery, Thessaloniki (1980), Macedonian Artistic Society - Art, Thessaloniki (1982); Dada Gallery, Athens (1984); Gallery Stavrakakis, Heraklion, Crete (1986, 1989); Corfu Reading Society, Corfu (1987); Gallery 7, Athens (1989); Galerie Viktor Kargados, Waldshut-Tiengen, Germany (1991); Anemos Gallery, Kifissia (1994); Zakynthos Art Gallery, Zante (1994). Since 1962 she participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and international exhibitions abroad.
Prints by Aria Komianou are kept in public collections such as The American College of Greece - ACG Art. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts, the Alumni Association of ASFA, founding member of the Printmakers Greece, a member of the Association of Greek Women Artists and Printmakers Group Kiwa - Kyoto, Japan.
