CM: Aria Komianou's Composition № 267 was engraved on Swedish softwood and printed with black and red ink. In her works, Komianou often uses the motif of the bottle. Just like ceramic pots in the works of Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964), I think the bottles are personifications of man. Therefore, with he r compositions she is concerned with human relations. In the present Composition № 267, two bottles stand on a table. At the spout of the tallest bottle on the left sits a 'Arian' birdie watching a tree with fruit emerging as a scent from the spout inside the other bottle. The fruits in the Byzantine chon t rokokkino color (carmine with minimal blue) always symbolizes in Komianou's works the hope that resists the darkness of despair.
