Angeliki Korkou was born on 22 January 1963 in Patras, Greece. In 1991 she received her BFA in Fine Arts from the Aristotlelian University of Thessaloniki, in the workshop of Dimitris Kondos.
The art of Korkou deals with the concept of mental and psychological health, and by extension physical health, as this is manifest in the concept of Analytical Positive Art. Her subjects deal with fluidity in life. She is concerned with the moment and immediate thought. All her work relates under the same evolutionary and rhythmical process. In actual fact her work is one, which relaxes the beholder and fills him with inner calm. Hope is the ultimate goal of her art.
Korkou is known for her method in using water. She stated "An image created on the surface of the water - as a fortuitous accident while working with water and ink - proved to be the basis for my subsequent systematic repetition in my art, and is the correlative to my outlook on life. Life is water and water is life, which equals energy".
Angeliki Korkou has exhibited her work in the following personal exhibitions: Waves, Anglican Church, Patras (1996); and Center of Artistic Creation, Poros Island (1999). She has also taken part in the following group exhibitions: Imaginary Landscapes, Epipeda Gallery, Athens (1992); Epikentro Gallery, Patras (1992), Ad Hoc / In Situ, Kanakakis Municipal Gallery, Rhethymno, Crete (1997); and Haritos Gallery, Athens (1999).
