Lefteris Kritikos was born on 2 November 1948 on Tinos Island, Greece. He studied at the Public School of Wireless Operators at Aspropyrgos, Attiki. Between 1966-1975 he t raveled abroad in the Meditarranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, from Canada to Argentine and from Gibraltar to Nigeria. In 1975 he returned to Tinos Island and co-founded with artist Babis Retzepopoulos To Magazi Gallery. Loom textile weaving became his primary pursuit In 1984 he opened Atelier Lefteris Kritikos on Tinos Island, which continues to operate.

He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece - EETE.
