CM: To make The Dove Liana Lemona has used thirteen cut-out illustrations from magazines. The picture consists of stereotypical elements that comprise 'greekness'; such as the wooden table and stool, a pot of flowers by a window, a fragment of an inner courtyard, a cluster of clay jars, an oven, a campanile, and the Greek flag. Presiding in the entire composition is a dove that makes wing over the entire picture. Though superposed by all the aforementioned elements in the foreground, the dove is discrepantly larger in size, which makes clear its identification with the eternal spirit of Greece.
