VARVARA LIAKOUNAKOU (Greece, Athens b. 1978 / act: Athens)

Varvara Liakounakou Varvara Liakounakou was born in 1978 in Athens. She graduated from Pierce College, and went on to study painting at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where she received her diploma with distinction (1997-2001). In 1994 she received the merit award at the Youth Panhellenic Contest. She is also a photographer and member of the Photographic Circle since 2001.

Varvara Liakounakou presented the following personal exhibitions: ArTower Agora Gallery, Athens (2002). She also took part in the following group exhibitions: Academy Exhibition, Florence (1999); Distinguished Students of Italy, Turin (2000); Graduate Show, Florence Academy of Fine Arts (2001); Hotel Posidonio, Spetses Island, Greece (2002); ArTower Agora, Athens (2003); ACG Allumni Exhibition (2006); and Painting and Poetry at Kalliopi Art Centre, Chios, Greece (2007); and Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time, ACG Art Gallery. The American College of Greece, Athens (2008). Artworks by Liakounakou are kept at the following institutions: The American College of Greece, Athens; the Emfietzoglou Collection, Athens; and the Vorres Museum, Peania. Works by Liakounakou are kept at the following institutions: The American College of Greece, Athens; the Emfietzoglou Collection, Athens; and the Vorres Museum, Peania.

Varvara Liakounakou currently lives and works in Athens.
