Panagiotis Linardakis was born on 3 February 1957 in Sparta of Laconia, Greece. He studied drawing at the Costas Iliadis School of Art & Design (1975-1978), and then went to Paris to study painting at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, sculpture at the École des Arts Plastique of the Université de Vincenne (1979), drawing at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, and photography at the École Supérieure des Arts Modernes. While studying in Paris he assisted Costas Coulentianos in his studio. In 1982 Linardakis felt ready to return back to Athens.
Panagiotis Linardakis presented the following personal exhibitions: Librairie Mante-la-Jolie (1983); Engonopoulos Gallery, Athens (1986); happening/performance, Free Lance Pub, Athens (1989); Domestic Farm, Medusa Art Gallery, Athens (1999); Flowers, Medusa Art Gallery (2003); Medusa Art Gallery in Art Athina #10, Helexpo, Athens, (2003); Cuckoo, Medusa Art Gallery (2003); and Women Only, Mohnblümchen, Athens (2010). He also took part in the following group exhibitions: Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2008); The Open Mind of Lafcadio Hearn, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2009); and sExplosion: Penis & Vagina Relationships in the Contemporary Visual Arts, Booze Cooperativa, Athens (2011).
Panagiotis Linardakis currently lives and works in Athens.
