Martha Lyberi was born on 8 December in Athens. She earned a BA in Photography and media art at Focus School of Photography & Audio-visual Arts, Athens (1989-1992). She took part in the Theatre Workshop of the Acting School of Athens with Kostas Dalianis (2003-2004). She learned the drama bioenergy techinique with Michael Marmarinos (2000). She took Buddhist seminars with the Dalai Lama (1998-2007). She took BA courses at Deree College, Athens (1987-1989). She received distinction at the following events: European Kodak Awards Competition, Athens, Greece (1991); Competition of Young Artists - Elle Magazine, Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Centre, Athens, Greece (1994); and Firenze Biennale Europa della Fotografia d'Autore, Florence, Italy (1996).
