MICHAEL MICHAELEDES (Egypt, Cairo b. 1927 / act: London - Athens - Florence)

Michael Michaeledes Michael Anthony Michaeledes was born on 14 July 1927 in Cairo, Egypt. He developed an interest in painting and poetry from a young age. He received a classical education in Greece, and studied art and architecture in Italy and England.

In 1954 he won the Philadelphios panhellenic poetry competition in Athens. In 1959 he had his first exhibition at Leicester Galleries in London. In 1972 Michaeledes had his first exhibiton at Annely Juda Fine Art, who still represents his art in Europe. In 1976 he received international acclaim by representing Greece at the Biennale di Venezia.
