CM: Daniel Mulloy's Blink is concerned with the chaos as a result of population explosion. Blink is about one face exploding into innumerable faces. The eyes pulsate in and out. Basically it looks like a single portrait, but in actual fact it is composed of the faces of a great number of participants. The common denominator shared by all the sitters is the position of their eyes. The effect of seeing all of the facial features rapidly transforming around the eyes is of a constant blink, like a facial twitch.
Blink took part in Chaos: Contemporary Cosmologies, the first multi-media group exhibition curated in 2002 by Megakles Rogakos at Bishopsgate Goodsyard, a disused railway station as an alternative gallery space in the heart of London.
