Chryssa Nikoleri was born on 2 April 1964 in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from Anatolia College of Thessaloniki in 1982. She studied photography at Bayerisches Staatslehranstalt für Photographie in Munich (1985-1990), specializing in portrait, architectural photography and reportage. She is a fellow reporter of the Ethnos newspaper and generally works with various Greek magazines, such as Vogue, Paper, Homme, VimaMen and VimaDona.
Chrysa Nikoleri presented the following personal exhibitions: UL, The Hellenic Centre, London (2001); UL, Kalfayan Galleries, Thessaloniki (2001); The Flesh Made Text, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki (2003); Diaries I, Lola Nikolaou Gallery at PhotoBiennale, Thessaloniki (2008); Diaries II, Lola Nikolaou Gallery at PhotoBiennale , Thessaloniki (2010); and Diaries, Eugenides Foundation, Athens (2012). She also took part in the following group exhibitions: Biennale of Young Artists, Thessaloniki (1986); International Month of Photography, Athens (1987); PhotoSynkyria, Thessaloniki (1996); International Month of Photography, Athens (1997); Diaries, The Appartment, Athens (2004); Memories, Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki (2007); Concerning Human Trafficking, Action Field Kodra, Thessaloniki (2011).
