MIRIAM NÖSKE (Germany, Bad Segeberg b. 1973 / act: Los Angeles, CA)
Miriam Nöske was born on 9 January 1973 in Bad Segeberg, Germany. She studied fine art at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and at the Berlin University of Arts in Germany where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2001 and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in 2002. In 1999 she was the recepient of the Erasmus stipend for a four-month study program in the class of Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. In 2002 Miriam Nöske was awarded a scholarship to attend the MFA program at the California Institute of the Arts and relocated to the United States the same year. She received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from CalArts in 2004 specializing in contemporary art and photography.
Miriam Nöske has presented the following personal exhibitions: Reflecting City, Sea & Space Explorations, Los Angeles (2008); Blue Water, Gallery D301, California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA (2004); and Desert, Galerie Trottoir, Hamburg (2003). She has alos taken part in the following group exhibitions: Memory Verité, Mandarin Gallery, Los Angeles (2005); Supersonic, Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA (2004); Wundermaschine, Museum für Photographie, Braunschweig (2002); Nicht aus einer Position, Semperdepot, Vienna (1999); Junge Zeichnung, HDK, Berlin (1999); Action Please, Neue Galerie, Berlin (1998); and 14.2.1996, Chelsea College of Art & Design, London (1996). Her films and videos have been presented at Experimental Video Art, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, Bangkok (2006-2008), and Overlook Park Shorts Film Festival, Cleveland (2004).
