FRIXOS PAPANTONIOU (Cyprus, Famagusta b. 1951 / act: London)

Frixos Papantoniou Frixos Papantoniou was born on 1 June 1951 in Famagusta, Cyprus. He studied Fine Art at Kingston University (1976-1979) with John Robson and the Institute of Education, University of London (1981-1982). Although making London his home and workplace, he keeps very close contact with his home country, where he shows regularly.

Frixos Papantoniou presented the following personal exhibitions: Morfi Gallery, Limassol, Cyprus (2003, 2006, 2010). He also particiapated in the following group exhibitions: Bankside Open, Bankside Gallery, London (1994); Pastels Today, Mall Galleries, London (1996); Sefton Open, Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport (2003). He also particiapated in the following group exhibitions: Bankside Open, Bankside Gallery, London (1994); Pastels Today, Mall Galleries, London (1996); Sefton Open, Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport (2003); The Celestial Suitcase , 476 Jefferson Street, Brooklyn (2009). He was nominated for the Bank of Cyprus Award in 1993, received the Runner Up Prize at Sefton Open, Atkinson Art Gallery of Southport in 2003, and won the BDC Studio Award for Wellmade #3, at Fresh Art, The Business Centre of London in 2003. Most recently his work was shortlisted at the Celeste Art Prize and the John Moore Biennale. Artworks by Frixos Papantoniou are included in the following institutions: The American College of Greece - ACG Art, Athens; Bank of Cyprus, Cyprus; Laiki Bank, Cyprus; London Arts Board, London; Republic of Cyprus Ministry of Education & Culture, Cyrpus.

Frixos Papantoniou currently lives and works in London.
