CM: The Fédération Internationale de la Médaille d'Art - FIDEM is a professional international society dedicated to the practice, appreciation, and promotion of the fine art of the art medal around the world. The delegate for Belgium of FIDEM and administrative representative of Fisch Brussels - FiBru Ms. Marie-Louise Dupont (1929-2008) commissioned the medal of F.I.D.E.M. Co-Founder Fernand Fisch (1897-1963) on the occasion of the Federation's 50th anniversary in 1987. The artist was Belgian sculptor Marcel Rau. The Fernand Fisch medal was given during the final banquet of the congress in Colorado Springs, in the quantity of one medal per table. FIDEM member Paul Huybrechts recalls approximately 20 medals were given on that day and subsequently Ms. Dupont presented the remaining 30 medals to other honorable persons.
