Iordanis Roumeliotis was born on 27 October 1956 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied painting and stained glass at the École des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Appliquès in Aix-en-Provence, France (1978-1982) in Vila. He continued his studies in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia (1983-1987) with Emilio Vedova. In 2008 he became a professor in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Iordanis Roumeliotis presented the following personal exhibitions: Institut Français, Thessaloniki (1987); Gallery III, Thessaloniki (1995); Fleming Art Gallery, Thessaloniki (2001); and Vafopouleio Cultural Center, Thessaloniki (2007). He also took part in the following group exhibitions: Association of Artists of Northern Greece, Thessaloniki (1991-1996); New Artists: Crisostomo - Iordanis Roumeliotis - Bruno Gratas, Vellideio Cultural Center, Thessaloniki - Nice, France (1993); Alumni Association of Artists of the School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995-1999); Greenpeace: Art for the Environment, Milos, Thessaloniki (1995); Entos ton Technon Gallery, Thessaloniki (1996); Cheapart, Multi-Space Mylos, Thessaloniki (1997-2002); Paperbox, Makedonia Palace, Thessaloniki (1998); Exostis Gallery, Thessaloniki (1998); Pseudoevent, Vafopouleio Cultural Center, Thessaloniki (2003).
Iordanis Roumeliotis continues to live and work in Thessaloniki.
