CM: Having studied painting, when she began to engage with fused glass in 1969, Lea Roussopoulou used glass as a painterly material. As a matter of fact, she considers pieces of glass like brushstrokes in space. With her Orderly Ordeal Roussopoulou manages to harmoniously compose three different elements: pieces of fused glass joined by mean of copper wire surrounding an iron frame. Basically, Roussopoulou likes to experiment with the various shapes that metals can take and the visual game that occurs with the fused glass in space. In the present composition Roussopoulou uses glass of predominantly black color with strokes of brown, gray and blue tones. Orderly Ordeal, which originates in the universe, resonates to man's longstanding hope in vain to put chaos in order.
