Dimitris A. Sevastakis was born on 15 August 1960 at Karlovassi of Samos Island, Greece, where he grew up. After attending the workshop of Yorgos Tsiouris, he studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA (1979-1985) under Yannis Moralis, Dimitris Mytaras, Dimitris Koukos and Zacharias Arvanitis. He now teaches at the School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens - NTUA.
Dimitris Sevastakis presented the following personal exhibitions: Gallery 7, Athens (1986); Ethereal, Nees Morfes Gallery, Athens (1990); Silence, Titanium Art Gallery, Athens (1995); Name Gallery, Samos Island (1995); Artforum Gallery, Thessaloniki (1996); Misreadings, Gallery 24, Athens (1997); and Thus I Was Unable To Fulfil Any Age, Athens Arts Gallery (2001). He also took part in the following group exhibitions: Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time The American College of Greece, Athens (2008); and The Open Mind of Lafcadio Hearn, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2009). Artworks by Sevastakis can be found at the following public collections: The American College of Greece; Contemporary Art Museum of Florina; Dimitris Pierides Museum of Contemporary Art; National Galllery - Alexandros Soutzos Museum; Antoniou Collection; and Rigas Collection.
Dimtiris Sevastakis currently lives and works in Athens.
