Mark Williams Mark Williams was born in 1950 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received a BFA in Art Education at the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas; and a MFA in Painting and Sculpture at the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. He received grants by the following institutions: Independent Study Program, Whitney Museum, New York (1975); National Endowment for the Arts (1980); Artists' Space Artist's Grant, New York (1985); National Endowment for the Arts (1989); The Pollock-Krasner Foundation (1994); and Artist-in-Residence, The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation (2007). He lectured at the following institutions: Beloit College, Beloit, Wisconsin (1979); Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island (1995); University of Texas at Tyler, Texas (2001); Tuesday Evenings at the Modern Series, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas (2006); SMU-in-Taos, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas (2007); and University of Texas at Tyler, Texas (2010).
