CM: The National Archaeological Committee describes the present work as follows: "8. Black-figure lekythio of the Early Classical period (480-450 BC). The shoulder is decorated by a radial pattern. On the front side and below the meander is represented a quadriga. A figure in a short tunic standing on the front holds the chariot, while the charioteer in a long tunic keeping one foot on the chariot holds the reins. Two other forms are largely concealed by the horses. The figures are o utlined by incisions." The description is confirmed by Professor of Classical Archaeology Lila Marangou.
